Long a champion of women's issues, Nancy serves on the executive board of the National Women's Political Caucus-Alameda North, where she defends clinics from anti-choice protesters and works to elect women candidates to local, state and national office.

Nancy is a also an active member of the California State Democratic Party Women's Caucus and the National Organization for Women (NOW).
