Nancy is a fighter who will not let our schools be the scapegoat for the Governor's budget cuts.
Nancy has a Master's degree in education from UC Berkeley and has been active in public schools throughout her career. A former PTA leader and a classroom volunteer K thru 12, Nancy helped pass local school funding measures to reduce class sizes and fund after-school and enrichment programs.
Nancy believes the crippling cuts being proposed for our schools is flat wrong. Our
schools, community colleges and state universities are already starved for funding. Nancy will
never vote to rescind Prop 98, the measure California voters passed in 1988 that sets the floor
for state funding for education.
Nancy’s longstanding involvement in higher education includes eight years as Executive Director of the Graduate Assembly, UC Berkeley’s independent graduate student government.
Nancy is endorsed by the California Federation of Teachers, Former State Superintendent of Public Education Delaine Eastin, and school leaders throughout AD 14. |
