Sierra Club endorses Nancy!

"The East Bay Regional Parks District is perhaps the most impressive parks system in the country. Nancy Skinner plays an important role in protecting this amazing legacy for our future."

Legacy of Environmental Achievements

eastshore

Nancy was responsible for groundbreaking environmental policies such as the nation's first 50% recycling goal and waterfront protections that led to the establishment of Eastshore State Park.

Nancy's introduction of Berkeley's 1988 ban on Styrofoam, the first in the nation, sparked McDonald's to stop using Styrofoam at all of its US outlets.

As Director of East Bay Regional Parks, Nancy is adding acres to our beloved parks and expanding Park District programs to youth and schools in West Contra Costa County.
