Energy and The Environment
California can be an international leader in the shift to a low carbon economy. To be such a leader, we must ensure that in implementing AB 32, we support carbon reduction efforts by businesses and not give a free pass to large polluters.
We must also improve the efficiency of our building stock, appliances, home electronics, and industrial processes. I intend to continue my efforts to advance energy efficiency and further our state’s renewable energy goals.
I am committed to using the new revenues provided under Proposition 39 to ensure that our schools see real energy savings that can both improve the school environment and free up badly needed dollars for kids and teachers.
As a former Chair and current member of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee, I remain committed to working on these issues.
